The Orion 1, is a cap built to help visually impaired individuals in their everyday life. It uses ultrasonic sensors in the front and on the sides, which detect objects in a radius of 1 meter.
The cap has 2 alert systems, a visual and an acoustic one. When an object is detected, both these systems turn on, and get more progressive the closer the object gets. The visual system, a red LED light, is used to make it easier for the surrounding people to see the user. As well, the acoustic system is used so the user can understand an object is in their path.
For added security, the LDR Photoresistor detects the environment light, and when that light is too low, for example at night, the OLED Screen turns on, so the person can be detected easier.
